Evaluation

My first category is an event, which includes photo's from when I went to Wembley for the Npower league 1 play-off final. My favourite picture is this one that I took of Wembley from the outside the stadium. The main subject in this photo is the stadium itself. I like this photo because of the lines and colours. I took this photo because it is a memorable day and it helps for the memories of the day as it was the first time I had been to Wembley. The photo does focus on the main subject with the whole stadium in the picture. The lines make the picture work and so does the shape. The photo could be improved by taking it without the people in front of me while I took it. One person has said it was very good because the arch of the stadium catches the viewers eye. There is also a bad comment saying that the photo didn't have very much colour making it not stand out. I compared my picture with professional photos and it isn't as good because the quality of the photo is better and the colours stand out better.

The next photo I am talking about is also a photo from the category concept which are all close ups. This is a picture of my PlayStation Vita. The main subject in this photo is the Vita itself. I like this photo because of the angle that the Vita is facing which improves the lines of the image. I also like the colour because of the reflection of the light on it. I took this photo because I enjoy using it and I thought it would be a good thing to take a photo of. This photo does focus on the main subject because most of the picture is taken up by the Vita. I like this image because of the lines because one line is separating to completely different colours which makes the main image stand out. The photo could be improved by lowering the brightness around the Vita as it may appear too bright. Comments from other people have been that it is too bright but people have said it is good because of the red tinge underneath the Vita. I compared my photo with a professional image and my photo isn't as good because there is more colour in the professional image and it is positioned better and it fits in with the background colour.

The next photo I am analyzing is also from my concept category which are all close ups. This is the pair of football boots I bought a while ago during half term. The main subject are the boots themselves. I like this photo because of the colours of the boots go well together on the boots and the background colour doesn't clash with the boots so the boots stand out. I took this photo because I was happy that I got the boots and I wanted to share it with people by posting it on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The photo does focus on the main subject as there is nothing happening in the background to distract the viewer. The photo could be improved by focusing the camera on the image before taking the photo to improve the image. Other comments have been that the photo is good because of the colours as the background doesn't clash with the yellow. There have been bad comments like the fact you can tell that it is a carpet in the background not just a plain background. I compared my photo that I took with a professional photo and I have realised that it is much better than mine because the photo is focused on the main subject and it is a plain background and the main subject is much better positioned.

The next and final photo that I am analyzing is a picture of all of my PS3 games. This is from the category exhibition which are focused on my PS3. The main subject of this photo are my PS3 games. I like this photo because it has many different interesting images. It also has quite a lot of colour in it. I took this photo because I wanted to show people all of the games that I own and it shows my big collection of games. The photo does focus on the main subject as there is nothing else happening in the photo. The photo could be improved by having a plain background instead of a messed up bed. Other comments on the photo have been that it is good because of the mixture of colours. There have been bad comments like the background is not very good. I have compared with my image to a professional image and my photo isn't as good because mine isn't as good quality and the background is poor compared to the professional photo that I found.

I edited this photo like this because it emphasizes the arch at Wembley which is a major part of the stadium like the Two Towers was a massive symbol at the old Wembley.

I will be uploading photos that I have taken in 3 different. The 3 categories are portrait, concept and event. For portrait I will be using pictures of me with either friends or family. For concept I will be using close ups of some of the things I own or used to own. For event I will be using pictures from sporting events.

I like this photo because the orange colour goes well with the black background.

I also like this photo for the colour because I like the way the black bit is surrounded by a shiny silver which goes really well.

I like this photo for the lines and textures. There are quite a lot of different lines and textures in this pictures.

I like this photo for the colour that is in this picture. I think that the red and white go well together.

How to take photos

Rule of the thirds

This is the original photo that I used. The thing we are focusing on is too much in the middle. This is almost following the rule of the thirds so I decided to edit it.

This photo is the best colourful one of the lot. Of all the photos we took, there weren't many colourful ones but this one at least has the blue and red on a white background.

Can you make a photo look interesting?

This is a good photo because we know what we are focusing on and there isn't anything happening in the background to distract the viewer.



This is a bad photo because not everything is being focused that is meant to and there are things happening in the background which will distract the viewer.

This is the bad photo edited to make it look better. I have taken out the blurred image and stuf going on in the background and made it so it is focused on me.
